About

Courage, Compassion, Connection.

Welcome, my name is Ronda Jarvis. I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, complex trauma, post-traumatic stress, and other mental health challenges. I provide telehealth-only therapy in the states of Florida, New Mexico, and Virginia. Everyone has experienced some form of stress or trauma in their lifetime. Trauma is, fundamentally, a disruption in how the body and brain process memory and perceives safety. If you have experienced an overwhelming life experience or a series of adverse events, they may become imprinted in the body and are narrated as stories we tell ourselves in our minds. Often, people experience seemingly unconnected emotions, thoughts, sensations, and fragmented memories that may show up as excessive or unwanted behaviors, compulsions, harsh self-criticism, shame, or an inability to feel safe or at ease. Trauma may further manifest as chronic health conditions, physical pain, or a sense of living life detached — disconnected and separate from oneself and others — or simply feeling stuck. One may also be shaped by neurodivergent traits that can be present from birth, rooted in neurobiology and genetics. Neuroscience confirms that severe, chronic, or repeated stress rewires neural pathways, alters stress-hormone responses (HPA axis), and leaves deep physical imprints on our neurobiology. And yet, the brain's natural capacity to rewire through neuroplasticity means that healing is profoundly possible. Through courage, compassion, and connection — anchored in safety and emotional attunement — I am honored that you are here, curious, and perhaps open to exploring healing. To move beyond enduring and surviving. To transcend. My educational and life experiences have afforded me authentic insight into this work. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Over the past thirty years, I have worked across healthcare, physical health and rehabilitation, substance abuse treatment, mental health residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment settings, as well as private practice. I have extensive training in research-supported therapeutic approaches, including: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Internal Family Systems (IFS) Somatic (body-based) modalities Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS) I am committed to making quality, person-centered therapy affordable and accessible. I accept certain insurance plans and will make every effort to develop a financial arrangement that works within your means.
