About

Courage, Compassion, Connection.

Welcome, my name is Ronda Jarvis. I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, complex trauma, post-traumatic stress, prolonged grief, and others seeking mental health care. I provide Telehealth-ONLY mental health therapy and I am licensed in the states of Florida, New Mexico, Virginia. Trauma is a common human experience. Most people will encounter significant loss, overwhelming stress, or life-altering events at some point in their lives. While these experiences can be deeply painful, not all are traumatic. Trauma occurs when the nervous system becomes overwhelmed and is unable to fully process an experience, affecting how memories are stored and how safety and danger are perceived. It can develop after a single distressing event, such as the sudden loss of a loved one, a serious accident, or an unexpected medical diagnosis. More often, trauma responses emerge through prolonged exposure to chronic stressors, such as neglect, abuse, workplace trauma, poverty, persistent conflict, or systemic oppression. As as result, individuals may experience distressing emotions, sensations, or fragmented memories that may present as excessive or unwanted behaviors, intense longing, compulsions, disturbing thoughts, harsh self-criticism, shame, or difficulty feeling safe or at ease. Trauma may manifest as a chronic health condition, physical pain, or a persistent sense of disconnection from oneself and others. Grief may feel overwhelming and unrelenting, or you may find yourself feeling stuck and unable to move forward. Neurodivergent traits, present at birth, rooted in neurobiology and genetics may be present and influence how one experiences emotions, others, and the world in general. Regardless, neuroscience confirms that severe, chronic, or repeated stress rewires neural pathways, alters stress-hormone responses (HPA axis), and leaves deep physical imprints on our neurobiology. And yet, despite our beautiful complexity as human beings, our brain and body have the innate capacity to rewire through neuroplasticity - growth, adaptation, change - making healing profoundly possible. Through courage, compassion, and connection — anchored in safety and emotional attunement — I am honored that you are here, curious, and perhaps open to explore healing. To move beyond enduring and surviving. To transcend. My educational and life experiences have afforded me authentic insight into this work. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Over the past thirty years, I have worked across healthcare, physical health and rehabilitation, substance abuse treatment, mental health residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment settings, as well as private practice. I have extensive training in research-supported therapies and integrate these approaches to your unique needs. I am committed to making quality, person-centered therapy affordable and accessible. I will make every effort to develop a financial arrangement that works within your means. Insurance credentialing in progress. Currently accepting Aetna and those wishing to pay out of pocket.
